Review :
For Fernandel's fans.
Hindsight displays a certain charm in this hackneyed triangle hubby-wife-lover story.Check the title :Spring,Autumn(Fall) and love.
Fernandel(=Autumn) ,a fifty-something ,saves a gorgeous young girl (=Spring) from drowning. He falls in love with her and marry her ,in spite of his sister-in-law's disapproval. This wicked jealous woman throws her new sister-in-law in a young handsome pianist's arms. The two lovers leave for Paris and Fernandel's heart is broken..Will he be able to pick up the pieces?
This is not much of a plot but Fernandel is always much fun to watch. The action takes place in Montelimar,a French town where all the economical activity revolves around nougat .Fernandel in the movie owns a nougat factory!Look at the streets where the word "nougat" is written on almost every house. The honeymoon in Rome and its hint at "Roman Holiday" are also pleasant.
